● abilities: Rogue has the ability to use skin-on-skin physical contact to absorb the powers, energies, memories, knowledge, talents, personality, and physical abilities (superhuman or otherwise) of another human, mutant, or even some sentient alien races. In gaining another person’s memories, she also gains the emotional responses connected to them. Her mutation only works on living organic beings, and may possess the powers of several superhumans at once. If two of these beings maintain skin-on-skin contact while she touches either person, Rogue (when she has control) is able to absorb from both beings. The transfer is usually temporary to the duration of physical contact at a 60:1 ratio, but can be permanent in some cases. At this canon point, she does not have control of her ability.
Additionally, she has Wonder Man's ionic powers, which include flight, invulnerability, superhuman strength, stamina, agility, reflexes, and hearing.
● strengths:
survivor/fighter | Not only has Rogue been through countless of terrible hardships as a mutant, but due to her ability to absorb others' memories, she's also absorbed their experiences, both negative and positive. She's had the Red Skull in her head and lost more loved ones than she ever wishes to count, not like she can forget. Regardless of everything horrible in the world, Rogue still believes in hope and Xavier's dream of a united world, and continues to fight against the evils of the universes.
loyal | If someone has earned Rogue's trust, which isn't always an easy feat, then she's got their back. Period. She'll fight tooth and nail to protect them and will stand by their side through thick and thin, trying to do right by them first and foremost to the best of her abilities. She's not shy about voicing her opinions on others either, and stands up for her people when others talk ill of them.
leadership (chaotic good) | Over the years Rogue has taken on more of a leadership role in the universe, first as an X-Man mentoring young mutants, and now as the leader of the Unity Squad. Ignoring that Steve Rogers (currently in Hydra mindset) has technically disbanded them as an Avengers squad, Rogue still leads them to find and capture the telepathic and ever batshit Red Skull. Though she doubts herself, a former criminal and not always law abiding individual, Rogue is still looked at to as a rallying point.
● weaknesses:
grudges | When her loyalty is exhausted and strained past its limits, Rogue won't give much a rat's ass about that person anymore, or that's how she tries to play it. Sometimes it's more complicated. Regardless, she doesn't treat kindly the disrespect of others, especially bigots and malicious folks she encounters. At least she's better with that temper of hers now.
temper | Despite her leadership abilities and good alignment, Rogue has herself quite the temper. While it's relatively less volatile than when she first joined the X-Men in that she doesn't use her fists to solve slights against her honor, she's still quick to change moods and give someone quite the piece of her mind. More often than not she's able to direct this ire at super powered criminals and psychopaths trying to complete acts of utter terribleness.
death touch | Rogue cannot touch others skin on skin without terrible consequences. Lacking control in her incredibly dangerous powers taxes her mentally and emotionally, segregating her from physical comfort both by necessity and choice. It's exhausting and often encourages her to isolate herself from her friends and teammates.
